10º Foro Global de la Alianza de Civilizaciones de Naciones Unidas
Se inaugura en Estoril el Décimo Foro Global de UNAOC Con la participación de la Asociación Nexos Alianza que concede anualmente el premio “ Nexos un esfuerzo colectivo” a un vídeo de los seleccionados de todo el mundo producido por jóvenes creadores en el Festival Plural+
Este año el premio “Nexos Un Esfuerzo Colectivo” se ha concedido al titulado Weirdies elaborado por los alumnos de segundo del CEIP Maestro Camilo Hernández de Coria ( Cáceres) coordinados por Virginia Lubián Egido

WHAT:
The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the International Organization for
Migration (IOM) will hold the annual ceremony of their joint initiative, the PLURAL+ Youth Video
Festival, within the framework of the 10th UNAOC Global Forum, on Monday, 25 November, at 7.00
p.m. GMT (Lisbon time).
This year, a total of 32 short films from 21 countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brazil, the ArabRepublic of Egypt, India, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Republic of the Philippines, the Russian Federation, Spain, the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, the United Republic of Tanzania, the United States of America, and the Republic of
Yemen) were selected by UNAOC, IOM, as well as 20 partner organizations. WHEN:

WHY:
The PLURAL+ Youth Video Festival was launched in 2009 as a joint initiative of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). In a world often characterized by intolerance and cultural divisions, the PLURAL+ Youth Video Festival recognizes youth as powerful agents of social change and empowers them to foster respect for diversity.
With the support of a network of more than 50 partner organizations, PLURAL+ recognizes young media makers from all over the world for short films that focus on the themes of migration, social inclusion,diversity and combating xenophobia to promote respect and understanding.
WHO:
The spotlight will be on the 32 young filmmakers from 21 different countries who will be recognized for
their powerful and thought-provoking short films.
The high-level opening segment of the Ceremony will feature remarks from:
● H.E. Mr. Miguel Ángel Moratinos, Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for the
United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC)
● Mr. Pär Liljert, Director of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Office to the United Nations in New York
The young media makers who will receive recognitions for their videos include:
● Ms. Virginia Lubián Egido and Ms. Alicia Clemente Lucas from Spain
● Mr. Junhyuk «Roy» Ahn from the United States of America
● Ms. Phelister Amondi Awuor from the Republic of Kenya● Ms. Ana Júlia Freitas de Castro from Brazil
● Ms. Chaela Fuentes Tordillo from the Republic of the Philippines
● Mr. Odilon Matheus Gomes dos Santos from Brazil
● Ms. Dativa Samweli Mahanyu from the United Republic of Tanzania
● Ms. Suri Lavine Honório Cardoso from Brazil
In addition, we will hear from members of the 2024 PLURAL+ International Jury, as well as representatives
of PLURAL+ partner organizations, including:
